Looks like another addition to the OPPO family is official with the N1 Mini page (for registration of interest?) has popped up. This is in line with previous reports of an OPPO event today.
The page is in Chinese and Google Translate was not much help as most of the info is contained as images on the site. We did manage to grab some details but please take this with a pinch of salt:
- The device is said to use an octa-core SoC with either MediaTek MT6592 or Exynos 5422. If it’s the MediaTek SoC, the GPU would be ARM Mali based and if it’s Exynos, PowerVR SGX544 MP3 will be the GPU.
- Runs ColorOS 1.4, which should be based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
- 5”, 720p display (on the N1 it’s 1080p, 5.9-inch).
- 1 GB RAM.
- Has 4G LTE support.
- 13 MP, 1/3.2” Sony sensor with the same swivelling camera as the older brother. It has a single LED flash and 6 lenses. Aperture is rated at f/2.0.
- 2140 mAh battery (N1 has a 3610 mAh one).
- Dimensions 148.4 x 72.2 x 9.2 mm and weighs 150g. (N1 is 170.7 x 82.6 x 9 mm)
What’s interesting though is the N1 Mini seems to have adopted one new technology from the Find 7 called Super Zoom. This mode will take 4 separate shots and combine them into one single image. On Find 7, the image will work up to a 50 MP but for the N1 Mini, the sampling is probably limited to 2X with the resulting image having an resolution equivalent to a 24MP image.
The ColorOS 1.4 is also another interesting development as even the Find 7 only has ColorOS 1.2 at the moment. OPPO has promised an update to ColorOS 1.2 with the older models though.
No pricing and availability has been announced yet but there is a launch date that has been set to June 11th. We’ll bring you further updates when we get them.
